CMS Excels in Academics
Cleveland Middle School’s overall score for last year has just been released by the state. CMS scored a “5″ on academic growth seen by our students. This means that CMS was significantly above expectations on increasing student achievement.
This is a tremendous accomplishment, and it highlights the quality teaching and learning that happens in this building every day. The exciting thing is that the teachers and administrators know that they cannot stop here. Cleveland Middle School is dedicated to continuing to improve to ensure that it is providing your students with the world class education they deserve.
Did you know?
Next year, TCAP will be changing over to the PARCC assessment. It is developed by a consortium of 18 states and the District of Columbia for math and language arts/literacy. PARCC will include constructed response questions that require students to respond in writing and will be scored by trained reviewers.
In addition to middle school assessments, PARCC will extend with your student to the high school. Students who do well on the PARCC tests can rest assured that they are ready to go into college or into their careers. You can read more about PARCC and Common Core at the TNCore website.
